FAQ's

Q: How do I know how long a lamp will last?

A: Lamp manufacturers have a Rated Lifetime for their lamps, a figure based on lab tests performed in ideal conditions. Hint: A lamp's useful tanning life is approximately 70% of the rated lifetime.

Q: How do I maximize the life of my lamps?

A: Excess heat is a lamp's biggest enemy. Heat damage will cause a lamp to degrade faster, not meet maximum tanning potential, and lower life.

Q: What causes excess heat and how can I fix it?

A: Excess voltage, poor ventilation, not enough air conditioning, debris build-up, small room, or failed fans are possible causes of excess heat. See the excess heat chart below in the Tips section.

Q: Is there anything else that will maximize my lamps' tanning potential?

A: Making sure your acrylics are not blocking UV transmission. Clean reflective panels (if applicable) periodically. This keeps them free from build-up. Replace starters at every other lamp change. Excludes electronic starters. See the excess heat chart below in the Tips section.

Q: What does TE & TM mean to me?

A: TE- The time it takes to achieve 4 MED's or a typical tanning session. TM- The time it takes melanin to oxidize beneath the skin's surface.

Q: How do I determine what lamp I need to replace my OEM* lamps?

A: Call any of our knowledgeable sales representatives and they can help you with FDA compatibility and pricing information.
